Terceira bullfights are renowned worldwide. The bull is simply let loose tethered by a long rope where a group of man prevents it from getting out of control. The bull is pretty much free to roam and the comical situations arising out of men and women trying to both tease and run away from the bull are worth your time. Serious injury are rare but have happened. As a warning, don't take the Terceira bulls lightly, and don't expect to be rescued by the men pulling the rope. They're just there to keep the bulls from venturing out of the permissible radius. The bull is pretty much free outside that.
