Lisbon and flights from Europe: The official airlines of the Azores is SATA - Air Azores. The airport hub for most of the flights to the Azores islands is Lisbon (airport code LIS) on mainland Portugal. It takes about 2 hours to fly from Lisbon to the Azores. Most Internet booking engines have the capability to get you to the Azores via Lisbon. There are several daily direct flights to the Islands of S. Miguel, Terceira and Faial, and weekly flights to Pico Island.
North America flights: You may fly from Boston, Providence, Oakland (CA) and Toronto directly to the Azores. Please note that summer flights sell out up to 10 months in advance for the months of July and August, and 6-8 months in advance for June and September. Please book your itinerary early.

With some exceptions, most of flights originating in Europe must connect via Lisbon. From April to October there are weekly direct flights from London.
Flights from the USA to S. Miguel depart from Boston on Tuesdays and Fridays all year around. In the summer time there is an additional departue on Wednesday and an additional return on Thursday. Also in the summer time, there is an additional flight from Oakland, CA with departure and return on Monday; An addicional flight to Providence with departure and return on Saturday and; An addicional flight to Terceira with departure on Sunday and return on Tuesday.
Flights depart from Toronto.
